ΘΕΜΑ : «Υποτροφίες της ιταλικής κυβέρνησης για σπουδές στην Ιταλία»

Διά του παρόντος ανακοινώνεται ότι για το ακαδημαϊκό έτος 2019-2020 η Ιταλική κυβέρνηση χορηγεί υποτροφίες για σπουδές στην Ιταλία, οι οποίες απευθύνονται σε αλλοδαπούς υπηκόους και σε Ιταλούς πολίτες που διαμένουν στο εξωτερικό.

Για το ακαδ. έτος 2019-20 θα χορηγηθούν σε Έλληνες φοιτητές υποτροφίες συνολικής διάρκειας 27 μηνών προς 900 ευρώ μηνιαίως.

Οι αιτήσεις υποβάλλονται ηλεκτρονικά μέχρι τις 14:00 (ώρα Ιταλίας) της 30ης Μαΐου 2019.

GRANTS FOR FOREIGN CITIZENS AND ITALIAN CITIZENS LIVING ABROAD AWARDED BY THE ITALIAN GOVERNMENT.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2019-2020.

DEADLINE 30th of MAy, 2019

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and lnternational Cooperation (ΜΑΕCΙ) offers grants in favor of foreign citizens not residing ίπ ltaly* and ltalian citizens living abroad (ΙRΕ)** for the academic year 2019-2020 in order to foster international cultural, scientific and technological cooperation, to promote ltalian language and culture and to support ltaly's economic system in the world (According to Law 288/55 and its subsequent changes and additions).

The grants are only available to attend academic courses in ltaly.

The list of eligible foreign countries can be found on the website Study in ltaly: https://studyinitaly.esteri.it/en/ca11-for-procedure.

Art. 1
GRANTS OPPORTUNITIES

1.1 Master's Degree (Laurea Magistrale 2° ciclo)

Grants for Master's Degree courses are awarded for a period of study of 6 (six) or 9 (nine) months.

Admission to the first year of a Master's Degree course in ltaly requires the completion of a Bachelor's degree in the applicants' country of origin; admission to the second year is granted to applicants upon evidence to be on track with their first year studies.

1.2 Courses of Higher Education ίπ Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM) 

Grants for Courses of Higher Education in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM) are awarded for a period of study of 6 (sίχ) or 9 (nine) months.

Το be admitted to an ltalian AFAM lnstitute, applicants need to meet the entry requirements and academic qualifications established by the relevant University/lnstitute.

1.3 PhD program

Grants for a Ph D program are awarded for a period of study of 6 (six) or 9 (πίπe) months.

Το be admitted to a PhD in ltaly, applicants need to meet the entry requirements and academίc qualifications established by the University; they are also required to provide a letter of acceptance on behalf of the relevantltalian University.

1.4 Research under academic supervision (Progetti ίn co-tutela)

Grants for a research under academic supervisίon are awarded for a period of study of 6 {six) or 9 (nine) months.

This type of grants can be awarded to research projects carried out at the ltalian Research lnstitutions {ί.e ltalian Research Council - CNR, ltalίan National \nstitute of Health - \SS, ltalίan National lnstitute for Nuclear Physics - INFN, ltalian Natίonal lnstitute for Astrophysίcs - INAF, The ltalian lnstitute for Environmental Protection and Research - ISPRA) under the academic supervision of public Universities or Museums and Archives.

Applicants must submit a research project and the letter of admission on behalf of the host University/lnstitute; they are also required to provίde the name and contacts (e-mail address) of their supervisors.

Nota bene: Admission to some Master's Degree courses or AFAM lnstitutes requires an admission test. Please refer to the relevant University/AFAM lnstitute to check whether an admission test is required.

1.5 ltalian Language and Culture Courses

Grants for ltalian language and culture courses are awarded exclusively for a period of 3 (three) months to students currently attending an ltalian course at a University or at an ltalian Cultural lnstitute.

Applicants must provide a certίficate of their profίciency ίn ltalίan language. The mίnimum level requίred ίs Α2 withίn the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): ( https://www.lίnguaίtaliana.esterί.it/data/Iίngua/corsi/pdf/tabellacertίficazionί.pdf).

Art. 2
ELIGIBILITY

Applicants who will meet the following requirements by the deadline of this call (Μaγ 30th, 2019, 2 p.m. C.E.T.) may apply for a grant.

2.1 Academic qualifications

Applications must only be submitted by foreign students not resίding in ltaly* and by ltalian citizens living abroad (ΙRΕ)** holding an appropriate academic qualification required to enroll to the ltalian University/lnstitute (more information on: https://studyinitaΙγ.esteri.it/en/Recognition-of-qualificatίon ). 

2.2 Age requirements

Applicants for Master's Degree/Higher Education in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM) Programmes/ ltalian Language and Culture Courses should not be over 28 years old by the deadline of this call (May 30th, 2019), with the so\e exception of renewals.

Applicants for PhD Programmes should not be over 30 years old by the deadline of this call (May 30th, 2019), with the sole exception of renewals.

Applicants for Research Projects under academic supervision should not be over 40 years old by the deadline of this call (May 30th, 2019) .

2.3 Language proficiency

2.3.1 ltalian-taught courses

ln order to enroll in an ltalian-taught course, applicants must provide a certificate of their proficiency in ltalian language. The minimum level required is Β2 within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): (https://www.lίnguaitaliana.esteri.it/data/Iίngua/corsi/pdf/tabellacertificazionί.pdf).

Candidates who were enrolled in ltalian course at the University may submit a language certification issued by a language teacher of the University department.

2.3.2 English-taught courses

ln this case applicants must provide a language certificate of their proficiency in English Language.

The minimum level required ίs Β2 within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Proof of proficiency ίη ltalian ίs not required for courses entirely taught ίπ English.

Self-certification may be valid for candidates from countries where English is an official language and who are applying for courses held entirely ίn English.

2.3.3 ltalian language and culture courses

For ltalian language and culture courses, applicants must provide a certificate of their proficiency in ltalian language. The minimum level required ίs Α2 within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): ( https://www.lίnguaitaliana.esteri.ίt/data/Iίngua/corsi/pdf/tabellacertificazionί.pdf).

Candidates who were enrolled in ltalian course at the University may submit a language certification issued by a language teacher of the University department.

Art. 3
RENEWALS

3.1 Applicants who have received a MAECI grant in the Academic Year 2018-2019 may apply through ordinary procedures to continue or complete a multi-year degree course . Renewals are granted only to applicants who prove satisfactory academic progress.

3.2 Applicants are eligible to attend a Single Cycle Degree Program (Corso dί Laurea α Cίc/o Unico) for the academic year 2019-2020 only if they have received a MAECI grant for the same cou rse in the Academic Year 2018-2019. Renewals are granted only to applicants who prove satisfactory academ ic progress.

Art. 4
FUNDING PERIOD

Grants are awarded for a period of study from January 15 \ 2020 to October 315 \ 2020.

For renewals only, grants may be awarded for a period of study from November ιst, 2019 to October 31st 2020.

Art. 5
INELJGIBILITY

ltalian Public Administration employees and their first-degree descendants can not apply for grants.

Grants cannot be awarded to attend Bachelor's Degree courses (first cycle) or Single Cycle Degree Programs with the sole exception of renewals (cf. Art. 3.2).

Besides, grants cannot be awarded to attend courses in foreign lnstitutions based in ltaly or abroad, nor in private lnstitutes, Research Centres or Labs not recognised by the ltalian Ministry of Education, University, and Research (MIUR).

Applications not meeting the eligibility criteria will not be considered.

Art. 6
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

Applicants must complete and submit the online application form available upon registration at the following link: https://studyinitaΙγ.esteri.it

We recommend choosίng a frequently used emaίl address; subsequent communίcations wίll be sent to the chosen address.

Applications must be submitted by 2 pm C.E.T. May 3oth, 2018.

Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Art. 7
SELECTION AND AWARDING OF GRANTS

7.1 Selection

Applίcatίons wίll be evaluated by a Commίttee set up by the ltalίan Dίplomatίc Mίssίon accredίted ίn the applίcant's country of orίgίn.

Syrίan applίcants wίll be selected by a Commίttee established by the ltalίan Mίnίstry of Foreίgn Affaίrs and lnternatίonal Cooperation (DGSP - Office VΙΙ).

7.2 Awarding

Grants will be awarded on the basis of a comparative assessment of applications according to the entry requirements and other criteria related to applicant's cv.

7.3 Ranking

The relevant Diplomatic Mission will publish the list of grantees as well as a list of the best excluded, if any.

Art. 8
ΤUΙΤΙΟΝ FEES

Grantees may be exempted from the payment of enrollment and tuition fees dependίng on the polίcy of each University.

Exemptίons are not granted for courses in ltalίan language and culture, for whίch enrollment fees are due.

Art. 9
HEALTH AND MEDICAL INSURANCE

Grantees wίll be covered by a health and medical/accίdent ίnsurance contracted by MAECI for the entire duration of the grant.

lnsurance coverage wίll not apply to events derived from pre-exίsting physical and pathological conditίons.

Art. 10
TERMS OF GRANT

Grantees will receive a 900 Euros monthly allowance on a quarterly basis, which will be paid on their ltalian bank account.

The first installment of the grant can be received only after the completion of University enrollment and the submission of all the documents requested according to the necessary administrative procedures.,

The MAECI will begin the disbursment procedures at the end of each quarter. lndividual payments will therefore commence after that period.

The last installment of the grant will be paid only upon verification of satisfactory academic progress.

Art. 11
INCOMPATIBILITY

The grant is incompatible with any other grant offered by the ltalian Government or any other ltalian public institution, including the grants provided by ltalian Regions per ί/ diritto al/o studio regionale (Right to Education provided by Regional Authorities).

** IRE grants are offered for the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ethiopia, Peru, South Africa, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
